REX® 95
AISI T8 - Tungsten Type High Speed
Tool Steel
Rex 95 combines high red hardness, moderate abrasion resistance, and good toughness. This grade is frequently used for more severe cutting applications than M2, such as machining stainless steels. Rex 95 makes an outstanding tool bit for general purpose applications.

Sold only as pre-hardened tool bits.

As-supplied Hardness: HRC 64/66.

Thermal Treatments
Rex 95 is only supplied as tool bits, already heat treated to about HRC 64/66. No further treatment is necessary.
Rex 95 tool bits may be coated or nitrided using any of the conventional PVD type processes. Care should be taken not to exceed 1000°F during the process, to avoid softening.
