QUALITY SYSTEMS                                                                            
 
General - A documented quality system is established and maintained in compliance to AS9100D/EN 9100:2016 / JISQ 9100:2016, ISO 9001:2015 – ANSI/ISO/ASQ Q9001-2015, Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) Annex I, Paragraph 4.3 of 2014/68/EU or 97/23/EC 7/2 and ASME section III sub-section NCA-3800.  Internal audits and external audits are conducted throughout the year to maintain compliance
 
Procedures - The majority of the documentation is in the form of Work Instructions. Support documents such as, charts, forms, and reaction plans, are also part of the system.
 
Once a year the Metallurgical and Chemical Lab Scope is reviewed, and updated if required, to comply with industry testing procedures.

Calibration of Instruments:
All calibrated instruments used by the Metallurgical and Chemical Laboratories comply with the requirements of MIL-STD-45662A and MIL-I-45208A. All instruments and equipment that require calibration are listed in our internal document  077-CH-100 along with the applicable calibration work instructions. .

Scope of Crucible’s Products and Manufacturing Processes:
The design of CPM® melted products and manufacture of both Air melted and CPM® melted products. CPM® products are tool steels, high speed steels, and stainless steel. Air melt produces stainless steels, automotive valve steel, tool steels, high speed steels and alloy steel products. Other activities include conversion services, laboratory evaluation, and testing and Metallurgical services.
